Portland, OR – On Monday, October 14th, the Oregon Death with Dignity Political Action Fund will launch an issue advocacy campaign aimed at setting the record straight on Senator Gordon Smith and gubernatorial candidate Kevin Mannix and their respective positions on Oregon's Death with Dignity law.

The news conference will feature information about this campaign, designed to educate Oregonians about the opposition to Oregon's Death with Dignity law led by Smith, Mannix, and Ashcroft.

"We can't let another minute go by without telling Oregonians how our U.S. Senator has turned his back on Oregon voters and is working hand-in-hand with Attorney General Ashcroft to nullify the law we passed twice," said Scott Blaine Swenson, Executive Director of Oregon Death with Dignity.
