Conference to to help Journalists Prepare for Tuesday�s Hearing in State of Oregon v. the U.S. Attorney General

On Monday November 19, 2001 at 11:00 AM (PST) / 2:00 PM (EST) the Oregon Death with Dignity Center will host an audio news conference in anticipation of the court proceedings to be held Tuesday, November 20th before Judge Jones.�

Lead attorney Eli Stutsman and physician plaintiff Dr. Peter Rasmussen will offer comments about the brief they filed today.� This brief is part of the continuing legal proceedings against U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft�s recent decision to prosecute physicians and pharmacists who prescribe under the Oregon law.� Scott Swenson, Executive Director of the Oregon Death with Dignity Center, will moderate.

After a brief introduction, participants will be able to ask questions after pressing a number on their phone keypad and being recognized by the operator.� The call will last approximately 30 minutes.� Interested parties who are unable to attend can access a replay of the conference by calling (800) 270.3140 and entering reference # 127436.
